Boyapati clarifies Pushkaralu Stampede

Film director Boyapati Srinivas had clarified about the stampede that occured on the first day of Pushkaralu. There were allegations that Boyapati was shooting a documentary on Pushkaralu that day with CM Chandrababu Naidu. As a result the crowd was stopped for few hours and later allowed all at once resulting in a stampede.

Boyapati however condemn these allegations saying that he is not present in Rajahmundry that day. “I was called to design the Nithya Harathi. I went to Hyderabad completing my work and I am not in Rajahmundry when that incident happened. My heart goes for victims and their families. I do not have any relation with the National Geographic channel documentary. I did not work for it”, Boyapati said to a TV channel.

Boyapati is once again brought in by the state government to design the concluding ceremony of Godavari Pushkaralu tomorrow. On the other day, some YSRCP Leader registered a Police case on Boyapati Sreenu at Rajamundry 3 town police station alleging him as main culprit for stampede.
