Breastfeeding Model’s ‘on the Face of It’ Message!

In India, there is a necessity to speak and open up on many things for the sake of changing the society norms that are regressive and male chauvinistic. Can every male look at a picture of a mother breastfeeding her baby without sexualizing it?

Well, there will be different opinions on this. The cover page of the latest leading Malayalam magazine ‘Grihalakshmi’ featured model Gilu Joseph breastfeeding a baby and with the lines, ‘Do not stare at us when we are breastfeeding.’

The message is very clear and on the face of it. Gilu Joseph is proud to feature in this picture and represent all the mothers who breastfeed their babies. This cover page is going to stir quite a dialogue or even controversy as the message is straight on the face. Gilu Joseph says she is proud of this campaign and hopes people won’t mix the picture with sexuality.
