B’Town makers making a mountain out of a molehill

‘Smoking is injurious to health’ and ‘Alcohol consumption is dangerous to health’ are two static warnings that pop up as if by default whenever there is a smoking or a boozing scene in a film and it was made mandatory by the health ministry. Many Bollywood film makers aren’t happy with this pop-up static warnings as they think that this would interrupt the feel of the film.

So now they have a proposal which they want to put up before the health ministry. Hence they held a producer’s meet at Aamir Khan’s house to come up with short films on no-smoking and send the proposals to the ministry to use against smoking instead of the static disclaimers. They even short-listed some film makers who would make short films.

This entire thing seems to be like making a mounain out of a molehill. A disclaimer seems to be more a hurdle but will people be patient to watch a short film with a message when they are hungry for entertainment and impatiently waiting to watch a movie.
