NTR’s movie “Devara,” initially scheduled for April 5, 2024, has been delayed due to extensive VFX work, emphasizing a commitment to quality over a rushed release. About 20 days of shooting are pending, partly delayed by Saif Ali Khan’s injury. The new release target is the second half of 2024.
Due to this postponement, there’s speculation that Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur’s much-anticipated film, “Family Star,” might take the April 5 release date. An official announcement is awaited soon.
April 5 is the best release date for any film this year due to its summer advantage and several public holidays in the first two weeks.
If “Family Star” releases on April 5, in addition to 2-3 weekends, it will benefit from festivals like Ugadi (April 9), Ramzan (April 11), Ambedkar Jayanti (April 14), Sri Rama Navami (April 17), and other holidays on weekdays. If the word of mouth comes positive for Family Star then Deverakonda might score the biggest hit of his career this April.
But there’s a possibility that other films may also target the same date to capitalize on the extensive holiday season, making it unlikely for “Family Star” to have a solo release. Produced by Dil Raju Family Star is directed by Parasuram who also needs a big comeback after the Sarkaru Vaari Paata fiasco.
