Can Sequels Catapult Teja Sajja to Tier-1 Bracket?

Teja Sajja aims for tier-1 success

Teja Sajja is fast emerging as a well-known name across India. He gained major attention with last year’s Hanuman, which became a pan-India success. He then focused on Mirai, a project already underway. His patience paid off as Mirai is now close to crossing Rs. 100 crores gross worldwide. Even in Hindi, it performed better than many South pan-India biggies.

With this success, Teja is now seen as one of the top mid-range heroes. He is being selective about future projects, carefully planning each step. At this stage, he seems to be relying on franchise films to strengthen his brand value and maintain his momentum. A standalone film could be a risk for him right now.

Teja’s career began with Zombie Reddy, which gave him a decent start. The film did reasonably well and opened the way for future hits. Hanuman and Mirai then delivered major successes, and now sequels to these films are lined up. The Zombie Reddy sequel has already been announced, with the same production house behind Mirai backing it. Director Prasanth Varma is focusing on the story, though the new director has not been confirmed yet.

The Hanuman sequel has been planned for some time but is delayed in starting production. Rishabh Shetty is set to play the title role, while Teja Sajja will appear as the main lead. With these sequels and calculated choices, Teja is working to expand his pan-India reach and push his career from tier-2 to tier-1.
