Centre cheats Telangana on Rs. 2173 crore dues?

Telangana State had almost lost hopes on the 2173 Crore dues from the Center. The state had to get 2323 Crore grants from the center on the 13th Finance Commission’s recommendations. The state government had written nearly 40 letters to the Union Finance Ministry to release those 2323 Crore funds.

However the Center just managed to release 150 Crore shocking the state government. With the 13th finance commission recommendations ended on March 31st, the fate of these arrears hangs in the balance. The 14th Commission recommendations will begin from today.

However Telangana’s finance Minister Etela Rajendra is hopeful of getting the arrears in the next two-three years even though the 14th Finance Commission recommendations begin. However experts say that it is very less likely.
