Game Changer, directed by Shankar and starring Ram Charan, is being produced by Dil Raju. Following the massive success of RRR, expectations are high for Ram Charan’s next film.
At the pre-release event for Dhanush’s movie Raayan in Hyderabad, where Dil Raju was one of the guests, fans eagerly sought an update on Game Changer. Dil Raju revealed that the film is set to release on Christmas, sparking celebrations among Ram Charan’s fans.
Shankar, who recently faced a setback with Indian 2, will be looking to bounce back with Game Changer. However, the film will carry some negativity due to the poor performance of Indian 2.
In an interesting turn, Shankar’s disciple, Atlee, is also releasing his film Baby John on Christmas. Starring Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh, Baby John is an adaptation of Atlee’s own film Theri. Atlee is involved in the creative side of the film and the film is directed by Kalees. The film is carrying decent hype in the Hindi belts.
Though Shankar is renowned for his superior storytelling and screenplay, his recent form has raised doubts about his current relevance.
Meanwhile, Atlee, despite being considered less creative, has achieved pan-India popularity, with his last film Jawan being the highest grosser of 2023. This has positioned Atlee ahead in terms of hype and popularity.
Down South Game Changer will start ahead, but in the North, Baby John will give a tough fight. Being a pan-India film, Game Changer has to do well in Hindi too. So Baby John might turn out to be a big hurdle for the film.
The Guru vs. Sishya clash this Christmas will be a spectacle to watch.
Other films like Kannappa, Sitaar Zameen Par, and Mufasa are also slated for release around the same time, promising a packed holiday season at the box office.
