NTR Directly Helping Rajinikanth’s Coolie?

Coolie and War 2 movie clash poster

Two of the biggest films of the year, Coolie and War 2, are set to hit theatres in just a couple of days. While many expected a heated box office clash between the two, the situation now appears to be more one-sided, with Coolie clearly dominating in the advance bookings.

Coolie is leading War 2 by a wide margin in pre-release sales and is projected to secure a much bigger opening than its competitor. However, there is an argument that the clash with War 2 might be doing more good than harm for Coolie, especially in terms of hype and audience attention.

The presence of NTR alongside Hrithik Roshan in War 2 has sparked more discussions about Rajinikanth’s Coolie than usual. Without NTR, War 2 would have likely remained a regular Hindi film with limited appeal in the South Indian market. The inclusion of the Telugu superstar has transformed the clash into a cultural and linguistic event.

A significant reason why Coolie is generating so much buzz in the Telugu audience space is because of its competition with NTR’s film. While Rajinikanth teaming up with Lokesh Kanagaraj is already a huge selling point, the current hype level owes much to this head-to-head release scenario.

In a way, NTR is indirectly helping Rajinikanth by adding more fire to the clash narrative. Coolie’s team has strategically leveraged this in their social media campaigns, while War 2’s relatively slow promotional approach has failed to create similar excitement.
