Copy right claim to put check on Torrent downloads

Nowadays, audiences needn’t go to theaters to watch a movie unless they have ample time and passion to dedicate to watching a movie on big screen. Pirated versions are available online within hours of a film’s release.

To put a check on such downloads, the makers of music director turned actor GV Prakash Kumar (hero of recently released Telugu dubbed version of ‘Pencil’) starrer upcoming movie ‘Enakku Innoru Peru Irukku’ have entered into a copy rights claim with the Trademark Registry to get legal protection.

So with this copy right claim as a legal right, the makers (Lyca Productions who are also producing Rajinikanth’s ‘2.O’) will get the right to not only take action on the people who are responsible for the pirated version’s release but also the people who watch the online pirated version. This is a welcome change in Kollywood as this might help combat piracy menace to some extent.
