We had previously reported how the makers of Srimanthudu too are expecting similar terms, prices and shows like we have recently seen for Baahubali. Now it looks almost certain that Srimanthudu team too will be blessed with similar benefits. But the real question is will these benefits work in its favor?

We have in the past seen how hike in ticket prices has killed the runs of many big movies prematurely whenever they had got poor talk. Case in point being the two film, 1 Nenokkadine and Aagadu, from Superstar himself. The price hike here were nominal and not to the extent that we witnessed with Baahubali and yet they had effect. Now imagine a universal rise in price across all areas and shows as many as Baahubali without the hype of latter. Wouldn’t the whole benefits thing backfire?
There is clearly a case of backfiring and a film being a complete non-starter if it lacks a genuine hype across the board like Srimanthudu is having right now. It is one thing to take such a risk on Aagadu but another when it comes to comparatively lower buzz films. The end result could be damaging. Remember the Khaleja fiasco when it had early premieres in Vijayawada?
It remains to be seen if the makers go ahead in Baahubali way not looking at the consequences. On the other hand going with pre Baahubali prices and release will make it look like a small film and low opening day numbers could be a buzz killer. This is one crazy tricky situation ahead for them.
