Criminal Case on Model’s Breastfeeding Act

It was a bold cover page on Malayalam magazine ‘Grihalakshmi’ that featured the pic of model Gilu Joseph breastfeeding a baby with a message asking, ‘Don’t stare at us while we are breastfeeding.’

One Vinod Matthew Wilson, a lawyer filed a criminal Case against the model, the editors of the magazine and the management representatives for the indecent representation of women by using a model instead of using a real mother for spreading the message.

Such pics and acts are very common in cinema and various art forms. They are said to be in good faith and those art forms indeed have exemptions from the law. But, Mr. Wilson sees the model’s breastfeeding act not being in good faith as he alleges that the act was done to grab attention.
