The Telugu box office welcomed a new release yesterday in the form of Dacoit featuring Adivi Sesh in the lead role. The film opened with decent occupancies, and the numbers are reflecting a reasonably good trend.
Reports are suggesting that this will be the third straight double digit opening gross for Sesh after Major and HIT 2.
Reports are indicating that the film collected a bit more than ₹10 crore gross on its opening day worldwide. This includes a decent ₹3 crore gross opening from Nizam region.
At the United States box office, the film could $352K which is again a solid start. She was always reasonably strong in the United States market, and this was again on display with the case of Dacoit now.
What is for certain here is that Sesh has perhaps managed to give this film a reasonably good start with the credibility that he has built amongst the audience with consistently good films. But the crucial challenge is going to be to continue the momentum over the weekend.
The reviews have not been too encouraging for this film, which is not the usual case for Adivi Sesh. So this will be a test of his market and crowd pulling capabilities, which is going to be the point of difference.
We have to see how this film would continue the momentum over the weekend as this happens to be the costliest film in his career, and the investments are pretty significant.
