In this context, there is an interesting observation going around as there is a general consensus that instead of arriving in close proximity, these films could have released independently.

Three new films along with dubbed Vetaiyan and long-running Devara flocked the Dasara season and this only proved fatal for the three mentioned films.
Rather than all three of them arriving at the same time, Viswam, Janaka, and Maa Nanna could have opted for individual release. They could have happily made use of the the dead air that is currently being observed at the box office which will go on till Diwali season which is a couple of weekends away.

Had any of these three mentioned films delayed the release and arrived this weekend, they could have had more visibility, and with a good word of mouth, a better box office prospect. This is the kind of miscalculation that breaks a film.
The audience are judgmental enough to watch a film based on its merit and not on holiday weekend advantage. So, these films, particularly Janaka and Maa Nanna could have opted for a free release by avoiding the Dasara mad rush.
