Nani’s Dasara is all set for its theatrical release in little over a day from now. Being the costliest project in Nani’s career thus far, the stakes are high on this action drama.
If we take a look at the Hindi prospects of Dasara, the film is coming at a time when Bollywood box office on a dry run. And also, Dasara will be clashing with Ajay Devgan’s Bholaa, which is the Hindi remake of Karthi’s blockbuster film, Khaithi.

Bholaa’s bookings are slow but, it’s a single screen type film so there is not going to be much of an advance bookings.
Given that Dasara is a rustic action drama, a genre particularly popular amongst the Hindi audience, going by the recent trend, things look promising.

For that to happen, Dasara will have to strike a chord like the way Kanthara and Karthikeya did, where they worked like slow-burners but returned very impressive theatrical returns in the North. Nani did his best to promote the film in Hindi markets but a big name like Karan Johar would have certainly helped.
Dasara will have three weeks to grow, as Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is releasing on 21 April.

Lack of known faces for Hindi audience will be one aspect. But what essentially matters here is the universal appeal and the novelty. If these boxes are ticked, then Dasara could be in for a fruitful run in the lucrative Hindi market.
When it comes to the Tamil market, the content appeals to them. If Dasara’s content is really good, there should be a decent run in the Tamil market.
