Deepika Padukone’s unexpected exit from director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s highly anticipated film Spirit, starring Prabhas, had become a subject of widespread speculation among fans and industry insiders alike.
Initially the reason for her departure was cited to be the disagreements over working hours and imposition of unrealistic conditions; however, new insights on the matter tell a different story.
According to an insider closely associated with the film, Deepika was initially quite excited about her role in Spirit and had even entered contract negotiation.
However, about a week into these discussions, Deepika reportedly received another offer for director Atlee’s next big project co-starring Allu Arjun.
Deepika apparently chose the new script, considering it a unique and exciting opportunity, over Sandeep Vanga’s Spirit.
The source also emphasized that Sandeep Vanga had no objection to Deepika’s requests concerning work hours and compensation, which were previously guessed to be the reasons why she left the project.
The decision to step away from the film was strictly professional and driven by the appeal to work on a more compelling script and creative partnership.
In light of Deepika’s exit, actress Triptii Dimri has joined the cast of Spirit and will be the new co-star alongside Prabhas. Meanwhile, Deepika is gearing up for Atlee’s next big venture, marking it as her entry into the South film industry.
