Bollywood witnessed one of its cult blockbusters in the form of Dhurandhar. The second part of this film is currently running in theatres and it has reportedly collected over ₹1500 crore globally.
While the film is currently on a phenomenal run at the ticket counters, certain Bollywood murmurs are suggesting that the entire industry is shocked and envying the success of this film.
The main reason behind this narrative is that not many Bollywood stars have openly praised the film, despite its phenomenal success at the ticket counter. When a film of such epic proportion releases, there’s a lot of public appreciation an star clout. But that did not reflect with Dhurandhar as Bollywood stars remain silent.
A new layer of this discussion opened last night when Shah Rukh Khan took the time and occasion to tweet about Allu Arjun’s Raaka. He clearly had great words to say about Allu Arjun and implied that he is looking forward to this exciting film.
This immediately triggered a parallel discussion as certain social media research commented that Shah Rukh Khan did not have the time to tweet about Hindi cinema’s cult film Dhurandhar but has time for Allu Arjun’s film. They are commenting that Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most insecure actors in Indian cinema and he must be envying the success of Dhurandhar 2 fully.
But this might not necessarily be a hard reality as Shahrukh has great respect for Allu Arjun and he might have taken the occasion to tweet on Bunny’s birthday which coincides with the Raaka poster. Moreover, Shah Rukh Khan delivered a blockbuster with Director Atlee who’s currently doing Raaka. So there is more than one reason for SRK to hype this film. Not everything has a political or vendetta angle.
