While Ram Charan’s Zanjeer is said to be the remake of Big B’s cult classic Zanjeer, its director Apoorva Lakhia says he has made changes to the script to the suit the sensibilities of audiences in Hindi and Telugu as well. He says while the Hindi version will be highly dramatic with action, there is comedy in the Telugu version. Telugu audience will get to see dramatic introduction scene of Charan but Hindi versoini won’t have it.
Apoorva even hired a scriptwriter for the Telugu version to ensure he gets all lines right for his actors, especially Priyanka Chopra, who has even dubbed in Telugu. He says the first draft of the film took him almost a year to write and when they finally arrived for shooting, they were using the 23rd draft of the script.
Lakhia is sure that post watching his Zanjeer, people would revisit the classic to at least find out how badly he has messed up the film or not.
