Superstar Director’s Controversial Remarks On National Award Winners

Director AR Murugadoss had made a scathing attack on the winner of the National Award. Everyone knew whom it was asked at which makes it all the more controversial.

It is a wide known knowledge by now that Akshay Kumar has won National Award for Best Actor. While that in itself was problematic the bigger problem was director Priyadarshan as head of jury. His selection of winner was questionable but his words backing the winner were even worse.

Murugadoss clearly called out the bias and partiality of jury. In the past he had made similar remarks when popular Malayalam movie Premam failed to bag any awards. As his comments have resonated with majority on both occasions, many are praising him for such an open stance.
