Disaster Openings For Tiger 3 In South

Tiger 3

Despite Jawan’s remarkable success in South versions, the much-anticipated Bollywood biggie, Tiger 3, seems to be facing a lukewarm reception in Telugu and Tamil markets. With just two days until its release, the Telugu version has only grossed around 10 lakhs, and the Tamil version a meager Rs. 45,000 in advance bookings.

Trade experts in Tamil Nadu attribute this disparity to the star power of Shah Rukh Khan, emphasizing that only SRK manages to draw significant audiences in South languages. Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 lacks the fervor witnessed for Pathaan and Jawan, both starring SRK, which enjoyed successful openings in Tamil and Telugu.

SRK and Hrithik Roshan emerged as the most beloved Bollywood actors in the South. While Aamir Khan gained traction post-3 Idiots and Dangal, other Bollywood stars appear less invested in appealing to South audiences.

Brahmastra did very well in the Telugu version, but that was because of the SS Rajamouli factor and not because of Ranbir Kapoor or Alia Bhatt.

Pathaan achieved a commendable 20 crore net in Tamil and Telugu versions, whereas Jawan soared to a staggering 60 crores. The industry awaits Tiger 3’s performance in the Southern states, curious to see if it can replicate the success of Brahmastra, Pathaan, or Jawan.
