Superstar Rajinikanth followed up blockbuster Jailer with epic disaster Lal Salaam. The latter was directed by Rajini’s daughter Aishwarya and it was a complete washout at the box office.
When asked to comment on the film, Aishwarya came up with a cover up statement. She said “Originally, the story was very good. Rajini’s character was supposed to enter after the interval and drive the story in the second half.”
“But due to commercial reasons, we had to bring Rajini’s character in the first half itself as the audience would grow restless if they don’t see him for the entire first half. So we changed the entire edit 2 days before the release. That’s where things might’ve gotten messed up. Reshuffling the edit two days before release cost us” Aishwarya said.
This cover up statement is not being received kindly by netizens as they are faulting her for trying to give lame excuses for delivering an epic disaster.
“She tries to cover all her mistakes in the name of editing. She has to admit her mistakes in writing and direction and learn from them. Simply pushing the blame on editing will help nobody.” A netizen commented.
