With the increase in such activities, there is a need to study and understand it so as to formulate strategies to effectively counter it. With this in mind, Facebook has given a grant of USD 188,000 to Sameer Hinduja, who is an Indian-American cyberbullying expert in order to study the phenomenon of cyberbullying as well as dating violence among teenagers in US.

Hinduja Hinduja, who has received this grant from the Digital Trust Foundation, formed by Facebook already has an experience in the subject and holds the position of the co-director of the Cyberbullying Research Centre and a professor of criminology and criminal justice at Florida Atlantic University.
