rajinikanth-daughters

Superstar Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth made a return as director after 9 long years. She made her debut with Dhanush and Shruti Haasan starter ‘3’ in 2012 and later directed a crime comedy Vai Raja Vai in 2014. She has been away from the director’s chair till Lal Salaam which was released this week.

The film opened to negative reviews and disastrous collections. The box office collections were poor in Tamil Nadu whereas the collections in Telugu states were embarrassing.

Many shows got canceled over the weekend at many places in AP/TS. No one expected such a poor response to a film starring Rajinikanth (though in an extended cameo), especially after the phenomenal success of Jailer last year.

Previously also, Rajinikanth’s other daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth made a movie titled Kochadaiiyaan in 2014. That film also turned out to be a washout in terms of box office collections and critically too the film was panned severely.

After seeing the result of both films, Rajinikanth’s fans are disappointed and are saying on social media that he should support his daughters in other ways but not act in their movies as an obligation. They want him to think about his loyal fans and the general audience.

While it’s unfortunate that both of Rajinikanth’s daughters haven’t yet delivered a standout film, one can only hope that luck will be on their side, and they’ll eventually create a memorable cinematic experience worthy of their father’s illustrious legacy.
