This February, there are multiple new theatrical outings in the Telugu space. While we have only medium and low budget films up for release, there is potential amongst them.
First there is Ambajipeta Marriage Band on 2 February. The Suhas starrer is an intense rural drama and the trailer caught the attention already. It is likely to be in Color Photo space. If the emotion works out, it could cater to a section.
Yatra 2 is set to release on 8 February. This is a political propaganda film trying to portray itself as a political film.
Then there’s Eagle on 9 February. This is the biggest of all films that are releasing in February. The Ravi Teja starrer is an intense actioner and it caters to action lovers. The making values look good and the trailer looked promising. It all depends on the content that is on offer.
Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam is releasing on 9th February. There’s zero hype on this film in Telugu though.
Operation Valentine featuring Varun Tej is up for release on 16 February. It is a pan Indian film and an Indian Air Force-centric one. It has to be seen if it can impress the Telugu folk.
Oori Peru Bhairavakona is up for release on the 16th of February. This looks like a very promising rural mystical drama. Telugu audience have been encouraging films of this genre. Sundeep Kishan is betting big on this film to get back to winning ways.
There’s good potential amongst these films to impress the Telugu folk at their own capacity. After Sankranthi, there is no notable release in Telugu so if these films can fill the void, there’s potential here.
