Dil Raju Pushing Blame on Charan

Dil Raju recently spoke about the controversy over the Game Changer poster, which claimed a box office gross of 186 Cr when the film had actually made 85 Crores, according to the trade.

This exaggeration caused a lot of negative reactions on social media, which affected Dil Raju’s reputation.

At a distributor’s meeting for another film, Dil Raju explained that while journalists usually don’t face weaknesses, producers like him deal with many challenges. He mentioned that the decision to release the inflated poster wasn’t just from the producers but was influenced by outside pressures, which they couldn’t openly talk about.

Many felt that Dil Raju hinted that the inflated number likely came from the side of the film’s hero.

Senior distributor L.V.R. (West Godavari) said, “For the past two years, producers have forced buyers to not reveal actual collections. For the last two years, no film has even earned a basic commission. People are laughing at the posters when they see these inflated numbers.”

Dil Raju also commented on the wider issue of inflated box office claims. He noted that many producers and distributors often label their films as hits or superhits, even when they haven’t reached breakeven, just to save face.

However, behind closed doors, these same individuals confide in him about the significant losses they’ve suffered in certain territories.
