GHMC – Biggest beneficiary of TS Survey!

If some one have benefited from the Intensive Household Survey of Telangana,it got to be the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The survey has brought in 276 Crore Additional income for the corporation in the form of additional Property Tax. Last year, the property tax collection stands at Rs 747 crore and the same went up to Rs 1,023 crore this year.

The reason behind this is the identification of new population base in the city. These people are evading taxes to GHMC for a long time.Corporation is also planning to impose huge penalties to the evaders. The survey had surfaced several grave errors in the database of GHMC. It is found that there is an additional 5 Lakh population and it has brought an extra 40 percent property tax for the corporation from this findings. The corporation however also will have to better issues related to water, health and sanitation as the demand will also increase with population.
