
The last time the world witnessed a pandemic, quite literally every field and industry took a massive beating. The Covid pandemic created a lot of panic and human loss which in turn had adverse effects on economy.
The film industry also had to take a lot of this attack as theatres were shut down and people got accustomed to OTT content subsequently.
And now that things have gone back to normal and sanity is restored, the world is possibly preparing for another pandemic crisis and it has something to do with the newly viral Hantavirus.
A cruise bound to Spain has been identified to carry multiple recipient of this virus, which can potentially be transmitted from one person to another. This virus originate from rats and their remains and can be fatal with a mortality rate of 35%.
The WHO and the medical authorities are currently assessing the situation and identifying the medical conditions regarding the same. More clarity is likely to emerge in the future.
As of now, there is no extreme case of human transmission, so there isn’t much to worry about. But this is an evolving situation, and we might have to be repaired for whatever that might come.
If the situation really does go south, the Telugu film industry will also have to be watchful of the scenario as another round of lockdown and theatre shutdowns could be very costly.
Beyond that, this kind of pandemic is not good for the human race either. So for now, all we can do is sit and pray that this does not go out of hands like the earlier Covid situation.
