Prashanth Varma and Teja Sajja’s “Hanu Man” have made a strong impact at the box office, gaining popularity both domestically and internationally.
Despite minimal promotion in the North, the superhero film garnered 2.15 crores nett on its first day in the Bollywood market. The positive reception suggests the film may comfortably cross the 3 crore mark, with a potential to approach 4 crore on its second day, depending on night shows.
The weekend is expected to touch 11 crores and the first week might end somewhere around 20 crores, a remarkable result for a film without major names and extensive publicity. The makers will be aiming for a 35-40 crore net run in the Hindi version alone.
The success is attributed to the Hindi audience’s appreciation for well-made content-driven films on Hindu Sanskriti and Sanatan Dharma, even without big star names.
“Hanu Man” is expected to follow a similar trajectory as Karthikeya 2 and Kantara. With an open field until the release of “Fighter” on January 25th, “Hanu Man” has a prime opportunity to achieve significant numbers in the Hindi belt.
