Has Dhanush broken all cliches about south Indians?

With Dhanush’s splendid performance in Raanjhanaa, we hope south Indian actors are also treated on a par with Bollywood actors. Over the years, several south Indian actors, including legends like Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth have forayed into Bollywood, but failed to be successful. However, Dhanush seems to have entered to make a niche for himself in an industry already populated with hundreds of actors.

Even with his slightly wobbly Hindi, Dhanush gives a stunning performance. He doesn’t let the fear of the language come in between his performance. He speaks Hindi with great emphasis on diction and accent and seldom do you feel the influence of a south Indian.

We wish Dhanush makes all south Indians proud, and we also hope going forward there are no more Madrasi jokes made against people in south.
