SS Rajamouli’s visual spectacle Baahubali made Prabhas the biggest star in India. Baahubali 2 broke all the records in 2017 and emerged as the first 100-crore opener worldwide in Indian cinema.
The craze for Prabhas after Baahubali was so high that his next film, Saaho, also grossed 100 crores on its first day worldwide, despite bad reviews.
But he couldn’t keep the same momentum as his last film, Radhe Shyam, failed to touch the 100-crore gross mark on its first day. The hattrick of 100-crore openers couldn’t be achieved because of Radhe Shyam’s poor performance.
Now all eyes are on Adipurush. It is easily the biggest film of Prabhas’ career in terms of budget. After the initial negative reactions settled down, the scenario changed now.
After the decent trailer and two impressive songs, the stage is all set for Adipurush to be the next big opener in Indian cinema. The film has to do exceedingly well in its Hindi version to touch the 100-crore mark. Will it cross the 100-crore gross opening mark? Only time will tell.
Indian stars who have crossed the 100-crore gross opening day mark are Prabhas (Baahubali, Saaho), NTR and Ram Charan (RRR), Yash (KGF 2), Rajinikanth (2.0), and Shah Rukh Khan (Pathaan).
