High Court Clears Route For Big Film’s OTT Release

Bollywood star couple, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s recent theatrical release, 83 turned out to be a dud at the box office. The film’s OTT release got postponed recently.

Incidentally, Mad Man Productions tried to stall 83’s premieres on Netflix (Hindi version) and Disney+ Hotstar (Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam versions), citing copyright infringement. They approached the Mumbai High Court regarding the same.

The Mumbai High Court rejected the plea to stay 83’s OTT premieres on Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar. Meaning, the last hurdle for 83’s OTT release is cleared and the film might start streaming on the platforms soon.

83 is a sports drama featuring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. Netflix and Hotstar are expected to announce the digital premieres date soon.
