HanuMan is the biggest(non-superstar film) box office grosser of all time from Tollywood and it is having a very good run at the Hindi box office.
After a Rs 22 nett first week, the film collected Rs 11 crore in the first weekend which is a pretty good number. The film maintained a good hold on the second weekend as well.
The overall nett collections till now are Rs 33 crores. This film is heading for a Rs 50+ crore lifetime run at the box office. This is an impressive number and sets the stage for the sequels that are to follow.
However, the film didn’t have a breakout period with extraordinary tallies in many areas, which was needed if it had to enter the big league and touch the Rs 100 crore mark.
Though the 100 crore mark looked farfetched, it could have been a possibility if the film had a breakout weekend with a huge jump in collections, like in the case of Kantara and Pushpa.
That said, a Rs 50+ crore run is no joke for a film that doesn’t have a familiar cast for the Hindi folk nor comes with the sequel advantage.
