Teja Sajja and Prasanth Varma’s Sankranthi outing, HanuMan is punching above its weight at the box office with excellent revenues being reported in every major circuit, including the USA. Coming to the Hindi box office, the film has started on a bright note.
Hanuman has collected Rs 2 crore nett on its opening day in the Hindi belt and this is on par with a straight Hindi film – Merry Christmas which has Katrina Kaif in the lead role and released on the same day.
Previously, Karthikeya 2 started with Rs 10 lakh nett in Hindi on opening day and went up to Rs 31 crores nett in the full run. With that in consideration, HanuMan has started on a 20X better note and also with huge upside potential.
HanuMan has no competition in the Hindi mass centres and with encouraging word of mouth, paired with a Hindutva vibe, it should be looking to go big. The Ayodhya Ram Mandir emotion is also peaking now and it will play in HanuMan’s favour.
HanuMan’s title itself is enough to create traction in the belt and pair that with goosebumps moments in the film, we have recipe for success. This will work in HanuMan’s favour in the Hindi belt.
