The Hindi box office was finally reprieved by Kalki which has gone on to collect an impressive Rs 250 crore at the box office. This is now the biggest-grossing Indian film in the Hindi belt for the year 2024.
Kalki is still falling short of the tally of RRR which was around Rs 275 crore in the Hindi belt. The lack of mass circuit response is evident in this case.
The next mainstream sureshot film from Tollywood to enter the Hindi belt will be Pushpa 2. The Allu Arjun starrer is sure to open big in the Hindi belt but its content will decide the final run tally.
There is Devara as well but its prospects are highly volatile and subject to change. There is no clear graph of where this film might end up in Hindi.
The conservative estimate is that Pushpa 2 will surely be a Rs 200 crore nett film in Hindi regardless of word of mouth. This is entirely due to the sequel advantage and given that Sukumar delivers a good trailer.
Though there are estimates that Pushpa 2, with a unanimous word of mouth, could touch the Rs 500 crore nett mark. But this will entirely depend on the reviews.
In the case of Kalki, the film lacked the support of the masses in Hindi. But in the case of Pushpa 2, the film is likely to be lapped up big time by the masses which will be its mainstay at the box office.
