The festive period of Sankranthi is over and things are returning to normal across the two Telugu states. So how are the things today post the holidays and what lies ahead for the two films?
Gopala Gopala and I are two films that are as different as one could image and hence they cater to different segment of audience. Ideally both the films would have done pretty strong business had the talk been unanimous. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case and both films had mixed talk associated with them with I being the poorer one. The run of the film in the two Telugu states reflected this.
Gopala Gopala has been strong in all the A centers with good family participation. Similarly I was excellent during the festive days across all centers as it was more hyped and massy film. Overall family patronage helped GG post very good total at the end of its second weekend where as masses carried I.
Today both the films have seen drop as one would expect. Gopala Gopala is looking at crossing the 40 cr mark where as I is looking at crossing 25 cr by the end of secoy and first week respectively. They are also expected to be stable on lower end till the end of second weekend. Trade wise Gopala Gopala needs 45 cr to get to hit status which looks more likely compared to I reaching 35 cr plus for hit status.
