Husbands twice likely to commit suicide than wives!

Wives in distress possess more suicidal tendencies than husbands seem to be a myth. And it is supported by the latest data by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). In 2014, close to 60,000 married men committed suicide as compared to 27,000 married women.

married people constitute about 66% of the total suicides that happened in the country. widows/widowers and divorced people made up for less than 3%. The count of suicides in men is more in all the groups. 1,400 widowers ended their lives compared to 1,300 widows.

Similarly, around 550 divorced men committed suicide as compared to 410 divorced women. Family problems are said to be the prime reasons for the suicides. They claim lives of over 21% of all suicide victims.
