Hyd Google Street View threat to national security!

Our readers are aware that Hyderabad was selected to be the first city in India to be entirely covered by Google Street View, which lets one explore places through 360-degree, panoramic and street-level imagery. Telangana government already entered in to a MOU with google regarding this project.

However the project did not kick start even months after the MOU, the reason is that there are several sensitive defence installations in the city. The Union government had raised serious concern over this project telling them it is likely to be a threat to the national security.

Telangana government had informed the Center that it is going to leave out all the defence establishments out of this project and is awaiting the permission of Union Home Ministry now. They say the Google team already started working in the background and will go ahead with implementation once the permissions come.
