M9 News Journalist Nishant sat with Director Venky Atluri ahead of the release of his Lucky Baskhar on the 31st of this month as a Diwali Special.

Speaking about the film, he said, “Lucky Baskhar is about the scams that happened in the Banking Sector in the 1980s and 1990s. Those days Computers are more as better Book keeping instruments. There are no online real-time transactions. It is all about how a middle-class man duped the system and amassed wealth”.

When asked if the films about Stock Market Scams and Banking Scams are seen more as A-Class audience films.

“We often find banking scams in the Business paper of a Newspaper so complex. But the same story is narrated interestingly on the Main Page and people read them. My story is narrated like that. Basically, it is an underdog story and everyone who loves money will connect to it,” Venky said.

He clarified how he was stereotyped for making similar genre films and the reason why his earlier stories used to go to London in the second half.

When asked about the cultural differences and other difficulties when shooting with the heroes of other languages, the director said, “It is more or less the same in the entire South. I can say that because I shot with Tamil and Telugu heroes. But in Mumbai, the culture is different. They behave like “I gave you money, you work for me. I feel like saying “I am a bloody creator, you better respect me”. In the South, it is more or less the same”.

Venky Atluri previously worked with Akhil Akkineni in Mr. Majnu.

“We committed a calculation mistake in the second half. Nagarjuna garu also spoke to me later. I am still in touch with Akhil. He does fights better than any Telugu hero I know. It is just a matter of time before he gets a big break and then, everything will be different,” Venky said.
