"I will not burn my bra"

There is a phrase in use ‘bra burning feminists’, but actually feminists didn’t burn any bra. It only means that they are hard core feminists. Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor who is coming before Telugu audiences through her upcoming film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’s dubbed version ‘Prem Leela’ claims that she is a feminist.

She has been a feminist since long and only recently the media is publicizing that she is one. Though she is a feminist, Sonam says she will not burn her bra. In her words, feminism means equal rights to both men and women, not everything because it is female-centric.

Well, that is a bold statement because many top stars don’t like to state that they are feminists. The discussion arose as she is playing princess Maithili in her upcoming movie ‘Prem Leela’ who says that she would be rather happy staying single than unhappy being with someone. That statement defines both Sonam and also the role she is playing in the movie.
