Indian gets $1m for selling Powerball!

America was caught in fever this week with a lottery game called Powerball offering USD $1.6 billion jackpot. This was the largest of any lottery game in the United States so far. Interestingly three lucky people won this big amount but Indian American Balbir Atwal gets the credit for selling one of the three winning tickets.

Balbir Atwal became a celebrity overnight for selling the winning ticket. He received a $1 million dollars cheque as retailer bonus for selling the winning ticket. Atwal owns a convenience store called 7-Eleven at Chino Hills in California.

Atwal couldn’t believe the news when he first heard said, “I didn’t believe it and then I looked at it carefully again,”
