The collaboration of Tamil directors with Tollywood heroes in the recent past has resulted in disastrous results. Many of them couldn’t even deliver a minimum content film.
Right from Mahesh Babu’s SPYder, Vijay Deverakonda’s NOTA, Ram’s The Warriorr, and now the latest Naga Chaitanya’s film Custody, all turned out to be total misfires. In the past also there are many examples like Naani, Bangaram, Puli, Panjaa, and Yeto Velli Poyindi Manasu.
Now Mega Heroes are coming up with films that are directed by Tamil directors. Though Shankar cannot be put in the league of directors mentioned above, he is making his first straight Telugu film with Ram Charan titled Game Changer.
Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej are doing the remake of Vinodhaya Sitham remake with Samuthirakani who has delivered a flop like Shambho Shiva Shambho with Ravi Teja in the past.
There is also a talk that NTR might collaborate with accomplished Tamil director Vetrimaaran in future, though nothing is officially confirmed.
Right now there is talk on social media that Tamil directors are turning out to be a jinx for the Telugu film industry and it is better for Tollywood stars to stay away from them. But Mega heroes are coming up with films that go against this sentiment.
Let’s hope they deliver hit films with these directors and break the jinx.
