The most anticipated trailer of Rajinikanth‘s Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar was released recently and is going viral on social media with mixed reactions from the audience.

Since the announcement, Jailer 2 has carried massive expectations among the audiences and many people believe that Jailer 2 could achieve 1000 crores at the box office, fulfilling Kollywood’s dream.

However, surprisingly, seems like the highly anticipated trailer of Jailer 2 has fallen short of the hype. While some viewers feel that the trailer looks solid and Nelson Dilipkumar has mostly retained the meter of the original Jailer, others are sharing negative responses.

They feel that the trailer looks flat and that Anirudh Ravichander’s background score in the trailer is a major drawback. They note that, other than the blast sequence featuring the Hukum horn theme, most of the sequences did not feel interesting.

Furthermore, they point to the glimpses of grand action blocks in the Jailer 2 trailer and claim that the massive budget invested in the film could turn out to be the biggest drawback for the sequel.

This is because they believe the primary reason for the massive success of the original Jailer was its simplicity and rawness. However, they suggest Jailer 2 feels more like a high budget action thriller with Bollywood action movie vibes. Moreover, they note that because Nelson Dilipkumar intended to make Jailer 2 as a Pan Indian biggie, he failed to maintain the nativity of the film.

Meanwhile, after watching the trailer, many Kollywood trackers suggest that Nelson Dilipkumar has assembled a massive cast for the film from North to South. They claim that if Nelson Dilipkumar manages to deliver a proper action entertainer, Jailer 2 has huge potential to do wonders at the box office.

Nevertheless, we cannot judge the film based just on the trailer and we hope Nelson Dilipkumar delivers a solid film with a gripping screenplay to live up to the expectations.

Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether Jailer 2 meets the audience’s expectations and emerges as a blockbuster success upon its release on October 15th.
