Following the terrible failure of Coolie, Rajinikanth is currently awaiting the release of his next film, which is his most anticipated sequel Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Simultaneously, the actor is now starring as the lead in Dharman helmed by Ashwath Marimuthu.
Jailer 2 is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15th as a Dussehra special and the post-production work for the film is now happening at a fast pace.
Meanwhile, the first schedule for Dharman got over and the team has now progressed to the 2nd schedule of the film. Also, the makers of Dharman recently shared an update regarding the 2nd schedule by releasing a special video and it quickly went viral on social media.
After the special video, a strong speculation is now going viral on social media claiming that the makers of Dharman are aiming to release the film in January, targeting the long Pongal weekend. If this speculation proves true, Rajinikanth will have two big releases in a very short period and it will be a feast for the fans of the actor.
However, in response to this speculation, even though Rajinikanth fans are happy, some critics suggest that the Dharman team should plan to release the film for the summer. This is because they note that if Dharman releases with just a two-month gap from Jailer 2, it might not be able to acquire the hype, as the audience needs some time to recover from the hangover of Jailer 2.
Therefore, they claim that the Dharman team should release the film only by summer and not waste a film with huge potential by releasing it immediately after Jailer 2.
On the other hand, earlier rumours suggested that Sivakarthikeyan’s Seyon team is also targeting the Pongal release slot. However, since both Dharman and Seyon are produced by Kamal Haasan’s RKFI, there is no possibility of a clash and if the Superstar wants to arrive for Pongal, then Seyon might be postponed.
Ultimately, all these are just social media speculations and there are still no official updates on Dharman’s release date. It remains to be seen whether the makers of Dharman lock the Pongal release slot or if the film will be released for the summer.
