Kamal Haasan to keep his promise on his mentor

It’s already been a year since the legendary director K.Balachander passed away. Besides the film fraternity, the legends disciples like Rajnikanth, Kamal Haasan and Prakash Raj were the ones who were deeply pained by his demise. Kamal Haasan couldn’t even attend the funeral of his mentor as he was busy with the post production of ‘Uttama Villain’ abroad.

Nevertheless, Kamal Haasan felt his work would be a fitting tribute and also promised to come up with K.Balachander’s trust. This trust would become officially functional from 1st July, the first death anniversary of the legendary director. The event isn’t going to be just a launch of Balachander’s trust, but day long programme is scheduled to take place.

Discussions and talks by artists, screening the legend’s first and also last film ‘Uttama Villain’ he featured in and giving four various awards in his name are part of the day long events planned to mark the first death anniversary of the legend.
