Two of the biggest names in South Indian cinema, and even in Indian cinema, Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam have come together for a new film. The glimpse of the film dropped a short while ago.
The glimpse looks interesting as we see Kamal in a periodic set-up and he exhibits the fighting traits of a Japanese martial art. He has undergone a makeover for this periodic actioner. His character is named Naayakan, which is a reference to yesteryear’s blockbuster film of Kamal and Mani Ratnam with the same title.
The glimpse gives an implication that this film has the shades that resemble, Hollywood blockbuster – Dune. The visuals and the color palette are on similar lines. The soundtrack for the glimpse by AR Rahman is befitting.
Mani Ratnam is a versatile filmmaker and he appears to be trying something new with this period actioner. The film has been titled Thug Life which again has an interesting sounding. All in all, the film has started its promotional leg on a bright note.
