Kaththi beats Superstar’s long standing record

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Kaththi which released yesterday worldwide has finally broken the long standing first day record of Tamil films.

Kaththi has overtaken Enthiran’s (Robo in Telugu) day one record by a good margin and created new record. The thing to note here is that the Rajinikanth film was released four years ago and no film in these four years came close to beating it.

Blockbuster combination and controversies along with the timing of the release for Diwali are seen as strong reasons for this sensational opening. The fact that it achieved this record with a film in competition like Poojai which is directed by Hari shows the kind of impact the Vijay starrer has created.

The talk of the film is mixed with it leaning more towards positivity. One has to wait and see how the film performs after holidays to know the ground reality. For now with these openings Vijay has proved once again that he is second only to Superstar in terms of the openings.
