KCR paid in his own coin over Pay Hike

While Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was hesitant to hike the salaries of the government employees, Telangana CM KCR announced 43% fitment in his state only to corner Chandrababu. Finally cash strapped Andhra Pradesh was also forced to extend the same benefits to its employees.

Andhra Pradesh Employees taking the poor finances of the state in to consideration agreed to accept bonds for the arrears of the revised salaries. However Telangana employees are not agreeing for the bonds and are demanding it immediately.

They say they do not trust the bonds as there is no guarantee that the subsequent government will honour these bonds in 2019 or 2024. The pay hike would impose around Rs 6,500 crore additional burden on the state exchequer and it will be of a big burden for Telangana even though it enjoys surplus budget. In a way, KCR’s plot against Naidu backfired!
