In Kerala, producer and distributor association is having a fight with theaters owners over the terms of release. The former want a fifty-fifty model like the multiplexes demand and get but the theater owners are not willing as it is through single screens that they get to earn more. With no consensus reached it has been decided that all the Christmas releases would be postponed.

If the issue isn’t sorted out and the ban continues, it will be a massive advantage for Suriya given his huge following in the state. The question is will the issue sustain that long?
