Kick & NJN : Dispiriting remakes

To touch the originals which have created a brand for themselves is like messing up things which have been neatly and adeptly showcased. The recent remakes of superhit movies prove that the above said statement is 100% valid. The Hindi remake of Ravi Teja, Ileana starrer ‘Kick’ might have worked in favour of Salman Khan to create box-office records. But for the Telugu audience who have watched the original, Salman’s ‘Kick’ is comparitively bland, missing the thrills and Ravi Teja’s verve in the original. Tollywood criticized Bollywood for spoiling Kick remake.

Now the cards have turned over. Sachin Joshi and Bandla Ganesh have given the chance to Bollywood to criticize Tollywood for spoiling ‘Aashiqui 2’. Telugu remake of the Superhit Bollywood musical entertainer ‘Nee Jataga Nenundali’ hit screens on 22nd August, Friday. The critics targetted the bad taste of the remake, copying frame to frame, not even leaving BGM & music numbers. In fact, every attraction that had been the USP of the original went missing miserably in the Telugu remake. The criticism went to the extent saying that it would have been a better product if the original had been dubbed rather than a remake. Until and unless a film maker is sure that he can surely make a better remake, it is unfair to go for a remake. What say folks?
