Legendary Combo Delivers Again

The director and music director pair of Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman is undoubtedly among the greatest legendary combos in Indian cinema history. It was the director who introduced AR Rahman with Roja in the first place.

Rahman has completed 25 years as music director recently, and in all these years Mani Ratnam hasn’t changed him. When one listens to the songs of Cheliya, it would be clear to anyone why they are such a revered pair. Rahman has once again woven his magic showing that he still has got the drive in him to deliver after all these years.

Cheliya is a winner as far as music is concerned. Lyrics by Sirivennela Seetharama Shastry help a great deal in the Telugu version of the songs. But this has been the case with many other past albums in the combination. The real question is can director Mani Ratnam deliver a success matching Rahman’s magic in music?
