Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi’s comments on Prabhas’s role in Kalki 2898 AD, calling him a “joker,” triggered a flood of supportive posts for Prabhas on Telugu social media.
Nani responded to this when a Telugu journalist asked for his opinion, saying, “The person you’re referring to must be getting the most publicity he has ever received in his life.”

This comment put Nani in a difficult position, sparking a social media war that divided North and South fans. North Indian fans criticized Nani, arguing that Arshad Warsi’s comment was about how Prabhas’s role was written and presented, not a personal attack on Prabhas.
Nani’s remark quickly escalated into a flood of online abuse between the two regions.

Realizing the situation, Nani clarified in an interview with MidDay that he had only heard a snippet of Arshad’s comment and reacted impulsively. He admitted his choice of words was poor and that he should have exercised caution. After watching the full video, Nani regretted his comments and acknowledged that his perception had changed.
It appears that Nani realized he had entangled himself in an unnecessary controversy just before the release of his movie Saripodhaa Sanivaaram.
